How the Evaluation Works

1. Tell Us About Your Child

Complete a detailed questionnaire covering your child’s academics, activities, interests, ambitions, current challenges, and educational goals. This allows us to study their situation carefully before we meet.

2. We Interview Your Child

We meet with your child one-to-one to understand their personality, motivation, interests, ambitions, and readiness to take action. This reveals the personal factors that cannot be captured through grades, activities, or a questionnaire alone.

3. We Build Your Strategy

Our founders review the questionnaire and interview together to evaluate where your child currently stands. We identify what is strengthening or limiting their profile, which educational path they are ready for, and what they need to do next.

4. Receive Your Strategy

During a consultation with our founders, we walk you through your child’s personalized strategy, priorities, and specific next steps. We also explain how we can support them and whether one of our selective mentorship programs is the right fit.

Every family receives a complete recommendation and action plan, whether or not they continue with U4U Lab.

However, because we work closely with every student and accept only 20 students into founder-led mentorship each year, we cannot offer continued support to every family. An invitation is extended only when we believe the student is a strong fit and that our team can deliver meaningful results.

Purchasing an evaluation does not guarantee admission into a U4U Lab program.

Sofiia, 16, Ukraine

Before joining us, Sofiia applied to US universities by herself. Without admissions guidance, she missed deadlines, felt constantly overwhelmed, and as a result, didn’t get in. Through the program, we completely rebuilt her application strategy, uncovering the connection between her interests in photography, medicine, and social impact. She transformed it into a photography project celebrating the strength of people with disabilities. In her second admissions cycle, Sofiia applied with a distinctive profile and confidence. She was admitted to her dream school, Rice University, to study Neuroscience and Psychology.

Ruslan, 17, Ukraine

Ruslan’s background was not academic enough. Despite training professionally in ballet and winning Ukraine’s Best Novel award, he struggled to turn his achievements into a compelling university profile. Through Project U, we united his ballet, writing, and interest in politics around one clear idea: how art shapes the way people understand the world, founding a book review club to actualize this. Through Project A, we translated this distinctive identity into a cohesive application, resulting in admission to his dream school, Bates College, where he studies Literature and Political Science. His academic journey has since taken him to Oxford University, where he will spend a year.

Alex, 17, UAE

When Alex joined us, he had strong academics and years of commitment to football, but no clear direction connecting the two. Through Project U, we helped him combine football with materials science and turn that interest into a real-world project that secured AED 100,000 in funding from a local physics organization. Through Project A, we built his application around a clear thesis: using science to make football safer and improve athletic performance. Alex was admitted to Princeton, where he now concentrates in Physics.

Karolina, 18, Ukraine

When Karolina joined U4U Lab, she knew she loved writing and English but had not yet translated those interests into a clearly defined profile. We helped her discover a focused direction in investigative journalism, develop a cohesive narrative around bringing overlooked community stories to light, and build a comprehensive profile that reinforced it. Karolina was admitted to Phillips Exeter Academy for three years. At Exeter, she became Director of Investigative Reporting for The Exonian and received the Academy Journalism Award.

Moksh, 16, UAE

Moksh was struggling academically and had little interest in school, despite working with multiple tutors. Through our program, we identified his genuine interests in business and geography, as well as his ambition to expand his family’s business internationally. He turned those interests into action by developing a business project at school and later earning places in summer programs at King’s College London and Harvard Business School. He is now studying at Collège du Léman in Switzerland, focusing on geography and business while preparing for his next academic step.

Alisa, 16, Ukraine

Before joining us, Alisa was interested in languages, psychology, and education. She was overwhelmed by a long list of commitments and unsure what she genuinely wanted to pursue. Through the program, Alisa identified youth empowerment as her main direction. She cut out activities that no longer served her goals and began going deeper into the work that mattered to her. Today, Alisa is President of Youth Parliament in her city. She participated in the highly selective Camp Rising Sun, and is now actively building an interactive map of Dnipro connecting young people with local organizations, youth spaces, and opportunities.

Alice, 15, US

Alice was bored at school. Nothing seemed to interest her, and she spent much of her free time on social media. After just four meetings, we highlighted her strong, authentic passion for nutrition and her desire to help younger generations develop healthy eating habits. Through Project U, Alice worked with her school chef to transform the school menu. Now, at 15, she is building her own business, partnering with local farms to deliver custom-made lunch boxes to students across her state.

Zayd, 13, UK

Zayd was exceptionally bright but interested in everything from computer science and mathematics to theatre and dance, leaving him overwhelmed by the possibilities. Through Project U, we helped him combine his interests into one unique direction. He began developing lighting and special effects for school musicals in London, assembled a team of three, and built their own website. They are now working to expand into the Greater London entertainment industry, deepening the connection between technology and stage production.

Arjun, India, 15

Arjun was fascinated by AI but felt lost in such a vast and rapidly changing field. He didn’t know where to start. So he started small. Through Project U, he developed a project focused on helping teachers from older generations introduce AI into their classrooms. Within three months, his idea grew into workshops across 10 schools, and Arjun is now working to promote AI literacy in India and beyond. He is also applying to US boarding schools with us this year.

Masha, 16, Italy

Masha had a unique fascination with butterflies. Through Project U, she connected with one of the few professors in italy researching butterfly conservation and began working on a project focused on protecting a rare species. Today, Masha is writing her own research paper as she prepares to apply to Ivy League universities next year.

        Is the evaluation required before joining a U4U Lab program?

        Yes. We do not recommend or admit a student into a program until we understand their complete case. The evaluation allows us to determine what your child needs and whether continued work with U4U Lab is the right fit.

        Is this a sales call?

        No. The Comprehensive Admissions Evaluation is a paid standalone service. You receive an assessment, a recommended direction, and a written action plan whether or not your child continues with us.

        What information will you review?

        We review your child’s academics, testing, activities, achievements, interests, ambitions, target institutions, current challenges, and overall readiness. We also speak directly with your child to understand the personal qualities and motivations that cannot be captured by documents alone.

        Does my child participate in the evaluation?

        Yes. Your child takes part in an individual interview so we can understand their motivation, maturity, interests, and potential. We then use those insights as part of the complete assessment.

        What will our family receive?

        You receive an honest assessment of your child’s current position, the key gaps to address, a recommended strategic path, and a prioritised written action plan explaining what should happen next.

        Can we implement the strategy independently?

        Yes. The strategy belongs to your family and is designed to be actionable without continued mentorship. If your child is also selected for a U4U Lab program, you can then decide whether you would like our support in implementing it.

        What if my child is not ready to apply?

        That is one of the questions the evaluation is designed to answer. If applying now would not serve your child’s goals, we will explain what they should strengthen, how they should strengthen it, and when they may be ready to proceed.

        What is the difference between the evaluation and the complimentary call?

        The complimentary 15-minute call is an opportunity to learn about U4U Lab and ask general questions. It does not include an assessment of your child or individual strategic advice. The Comprehensive Admissions Evaluation includes detailed preparation, a student interview, founder-led analysis, a strategy consultation, and a written action plan.

        Does purchasing the evaluation guarantee admission into a program?

        No. We accept only a limited number of students and offer mentorship only when we believe the student is a strong fit and our team can deliver meaningful value. The evaluation itself remains complete and valuable regardless of that decision.
