We help students find their purpose — their internal drive — and develop the skills to pursue it with confidence. Through guided mentorship, they create a personal project that brings their passion to life and showcases who they are and what they’re capable of achieving.

We don’t leave this to guesswork — our mentors carefully look at what students pay attention to, where they’ve shown real interest, and what they naturally care about. Once that spark is clear, we guide students to connect it to real pathways. This is where passion turns into action. With mentor support, students design and carry out a personal project that shows initiative, leadership, and care for others. Along the way, they build skills that matter for life — from research and problem-solving to communication and professional networking. These projects often become the centerpiece of their story, something they can showcase with pride.

Outcome: A tangible project that develops essential skills and proves initiative, turning passion into leadership.

The Capstone

In the final stage, students step back, reflect on their journey, and create a one-year roadmap to sustain their progress. They celebrate what they’ve achieved and set clear next steps — so their passion continues to grow long after the program ends.

At U4U Lab, Project U — 

Pre-University Mentorship is intentionally selective

We admit only a small number of students each year to ensure every participant receives the depth of mentorship needed to grow. We’re not looking for perfect grades or polished résumés — we look for potential. The students who thrive here are ambitious, curious, and resilient — eager to learn, explore, and grow through meaningful guidance.

The program is designed for students ages 12–16

This is a pivotal psychological developmental window:
old enough to think critically and take initiative, but young enough that the right mentorship can shape
your path.
If you are outside this range but believe you may be an exceptional fit, you may still submit an
application. Our admissions team reviews each case individually.

Application Form

  • Students (not parents) fill out a short form about their interests.
  • Your answers should be honest — we value authenticity more than polish.

Application Review

  • Our admissions team carefully reads every application.
  • We look for potential, curiosity, and readiness for mentorship

Interview

  • Selected applicants join a 30–40 minute online interview with a mentor.
  • It’s a chat to explore interests and how Project U can support your growth.

Decision

  • You will be notified shortly after the interview.
  • If admitted, you can begin working with your mentor right away

Students are admitted on a rolling basis — which means once you are accepted, you may start immediately. Because places are limited, we cannot guarantee availability after 1 December 2025. Early applications are strongly encouraged.

We do not require transcripts, test scores, or parent essays.
This is your application, your voice, and your chance to show who you are

To apply, you will need to provide: your basic information (age, grade, school); a short personal statement about what excites you, what you’re curious about, or what you hope to explore; your reflections on why this mentorship feels right for you now.

Project U — Pre-University Mentorship
is a premium mentorship program

Tuition reflects the personalized one-on-one guidance, structured framework, and access to world-class mentors and opportunities. Weekly mentorship sessions over 15 weeks; deep analysis of your motivation, strengths, and interests; project development resources and personalized feedback; access to curated opportunities (competitions, summer schools, faculty research, volunteering); a one-year roadmap to continue your growth after the program.

Applications close on 1 December 2025.
After that, places cannot be guaranteed

Universities look at the 3–5 years leading up to an application. Starting now gives you time to grow something meaningful. Only a small number of students are admitted each year.
